Limudei Code-Esh: Introducing an Integrated Jewish Holidays / Coding Curriculum

The Limudei Code-Esh Project is a set of holiday-themed curricula that enables students in Grades K-3 to express their thoughts, ideas, and learning through coding activities that explore Jewish holiday concepts and practices. The presentation will introduce this free curriculum that is available online with units using either screen (ScratchJr.) or manipulative (KIBO robot) platforms. Participants will be able to experience the program in action and all curriculum materials will be shared. The session will also promote an understanding of the value of Judaics based coding/robotics instruction in the Jewish Day School setting: Develops language and computational logic Great use of time engages students with hands-on learning / brings Judaics to life and develops 21st century skills: critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, collaboration communication, technology literacy, and flexibility.
