Integrating Science in Family Education: Parsha and Planets on the Prairie

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This session will explore ways to integrate science into your existing curricula using hands-on labs, field trips, and guest speakers. Incorporating science helps reach students and their families on a different, deeper level and inspires them to connect with Judaism in a new way. Each week, our families receive an electronic parsha summary, discussion questions, and hands-on labs relating the weekly portion to science. We will share examples of email blasts, labs, and field trips on topics as diverse as how to make a rainbow, build a Tower of Babel, explain the plagues, do the math for the census, and describe how different oils harden a heart. We will share how we utilize this program for a variety of age levels and how it moved from an in-person elective to a remote program during the pandemic.
This project is part of a grant from "Sinai and Synapses" and is one of four projects in the country in this funding cycle.
